Worship and services
Coronavirus Update - 23 March 2020
It is with great sadness that we have taken the decision to close both the church and church hall and suspend all worship and outreach activities in them for the foreseeable future. Our worship of God and our care for each other continue, but cannot safely be done in our buildings in the present circumstances.
Please see our Regular Services page for details of our live-streamed worship from the vicarage.
If you would like a prayer said for yourself or others, please use our confidential Can we pray for you? link.
Please see too the suggested prayers and liturgy for worship at home on the Church of England website.
St Mary’s is a welcoming, inclusive church which encourages the participation of everyone in all aspects of church life, irrespective of age, gender, sexual identity and physical or mental ability.
We follow a traditional, Catholic style of worship, which sits happily with the church’s elegant and serene interior. Our main act of worship, on Sundays at 10 am, is a Sung Eucharist conducted according to the Common Worship liturgy. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served in the church immediately after the service - a time of sharing and conviviality that we regard as an important part of our ministry.
Other services include Morning Prayer on Mondays , Wednesdays and Fridays, and a Said Eucharist on Tuesdays at 6.30pm and Wednesdays at 12.30 pm.
Please follow the links for the full list of our regular services and worship opportunities and for information about baptisms, weddings and funerals.
