Worship and services
Coronavirus Update - 11 January 2021
With regret, we have decided to switch to online worship only on Sundays. Please see below for details of how to join online.
The church will remain open for individual prayer on Monday and Wednesday mornings (10am-1pm), and for public worship at our normal weekday services. We will also be open on Sundays for prayer from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
If visiting us, please observe social distancing, use the sanitiser provided, and wear a face mask if you are not exempted for medical reasons.
Please see our Regular Services page for details of our live-streamed Sunday worship. There are also links there to recordings of recent services.
If you would like a prayer said for yourself or others, please use our confidential Can we pray for you? link.
Please see too the suggested prayers and liturgy for worship at home on the Church of England website.
St Mary’s is a welcoming, inclusive church which encourages the participation of everyone in all aspects of church life, irrespective of age, gender, sexual identity and physical or mental ability.
We follow a traditional, Catholic style of worship, which sits happily with the church’s elegant and serene interior. Our main act of worship, on Sundays at 10 am, is a Sung Eucharist conducted according to the Common Worship liturgy. Tea, coffee and biscuits are served in the church immediately after the service - a time of sharing and conviviality that we regard as an important part of our ministry.
Other services include Morning Prayer on Mondays , Wednesdays and Fridays, Evening Prayer on Tuesdays at 6.30pm and a mid-week Eucharist on Wednesdays at 12.30 pm.
Please follow the links for the full list of our regular services and worship opportunities and for information about baptisms, weddings and funerals.
