Safeguarding at St Mary's

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, dial 999.
If you are at the church and need to identify your location to a call-handler, the postcode is BN2 1PR.

At St Mary’s, we seek to provide a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. We take special care of children and of adults who need support to manage their lives. Volunteers and staff for some roles involving children and vulnerable adults will be asked for DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks.

Click here for our Parish Safeguarding Policy, which follows the House of Bishops' Promoting a Safer Church; Safeguarding Policy Statement.

The full guidance that we follow is available in the Church of England's Parish Safeguarding Book, which can be downloaded as a pdf.

Jane Chetwynd-Appleton (07866 987888) is our Safeguarding Representative.

Kaye Inglis (07773 022246) is our Vulnerable Adults Befriender.

Becky Donoher
(07939 206024) is our Lead Children's Worker.

You may also discuss concerns with Fr Andrew Woodward (01273 698601).
