Welcome to St Mary's Church 

We are an inclusive and welcoming church situated in a vibrant and diverse part of Brighton. We are part of the Church of England and the worldwide Anglican Communion. We come under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Chichester.

We welcome all who enter our doors - and also those who simply look in out of curiosity. We strive to be representative of the community in which we are situated - whether elderly or young, partnered or single, straight or gay.

We take the Bible's teachings seriously and seek to understand them in the light of our own lived experience. You may have a strong Christian faith or you may struggle with belief. Either way, rather than providing answers, we see ourselves as a friendly sounding board, enabling both ourselves and others to live in the light of the Gospel with the questions that life brings.
