Accessibility

St Mary's Church is an old building with many access issues which we are working to resolve. The original floor is worn and uneven in parts and we ask all visitors to take particular care when moving about the church.

The body of the church is accessed from the baptistery, which is at street level, via a short flight of marble steps, which has a handrail on either side.

There is a stair lift to enable wheelchair and mobility scooter access to the body of the church. This is accessed via the west entrance of the church on St James's Street which has completely step-free access from the pavement.

There is an accessible toilet in the church hall next door and step-free access to the hall.

We do not have an induction loop, but hope to have one installed soon.
