Events and venue hire
St Mary's offers a superb acoustic and ethereal atmosphere for all forms of music performance. In recent months, we have hosted heavy metal by Eliza and the Bear, electronica by Tim Hecker, troubadour love ballads from the Brighton Early Music Festival, and Beethoven's Fifth by the University of Sussex Symphony Orchestra.
The church also provides a dramatic setting for fashion shoots, music videos, and location filming, and a friendly, central Brighton location for public meetings and debates.
The church can seat up to 400 people. Our pricing policy is flexible and we will always attempt to accommodate community groups, schools, young artists and fledgling creative companies at affordable rates. We are keen to have our beautiful building used by as many people as possible and want our neighbours to see St Mary's as a community asset.
We do not tolerate expressions of racism, sexism or homophobia, but we are open to healthy, creative debate and we may surprise you with our broadminded approach. It's always worth asking whether your event or artistic creation might find a welcoming home at St Mary's.

Alternatively, send an email to Katherine Prior, our Venue Manager, or call her on 07796 440670.
We also have a church hall available for hire at affordable rates, which offers excellent rehearsal and meeting space.
